IRVING HOTEL PLANS ADDITION

Entire Building Will Be Made Four Stories In Height With
Work To Begin At Early Date

Plans are now being drawn for the construction of two additional floors on the Irving Hotel, making the entire hotel building four stories in height.

Mr. Joe Stein, owner of the building, declared this morning that the additional rooms are needed for the business of the hotel and that construction work will begin as soon as the plans are completed.

The additional stories will be added to the northern section of the building, added to the original four-story structure two years ago, and which is only two stories in height. The two-story addition was constructed with a view, however, of the later adding of the two floors, which will be added without changes in the walls or foundation.

The additional floors will give to the Irving one of the most commodious hotel buildings in the State.

ROYAL PALM REVERTS TO THE IRVING HOTEL

The Royal Palm Restaurant today reverted to the Irving Hotel after operating for two years as a separate and distinct unit under private management.

Joe Stein, speaking for the Hotel this morning, said that plans are already underway calling for a complete remodeling of the dining room. Ceiling and walls will be redecorated and other improvements made. Work will begin in a few days and present plans call for reopening about January 1.

The Hotel in May, 1925, ceased to operate its own dining room, at which time the Royal Palm Restaurant came into being. Mr. Stein calls attention to the good cafes in Greenwood which are amply able to take care of their guests until January 1, when their newly made-over dining hall opens.

Angelo Liollio will now devote his time to the Post Office Café.

IRVING OPENING IS GREAT SUCCESS

The opening of the new Tap Room and Grill at the Hotel Irving yesterday was a great success with large crowds attending throughout the day.

The Hotel Irving Tap Room and Grill is specializing in sandwiches, steaks, chops and plate lunches, and is serving Schlitz beer on tap.

That the new service will prove popular with Greenwood people was amply demonstrated by the reception at the opening yesterday.
