Letterhead from the Reiman Hotel, the predecessor to the Hotel Greenwood Leflore.It is signed by Stephen D. Lee, a Confederate general. Lee served on the staff of Brig. General P.G.T. Beauregard during the operations against Fort Sumter. He also commanded troops in Mississippi, in the battles of Chickasaw Bayou, Champion's Hill, and the Siege of Vicksburg. After the war he would become the first president of the Mississippi Agricultural and Mechanical College, which would later become Mississippi State University. He died in Vicksburg on May 29,1908 and is buried in Friendship Cemetary, in Columbus, MS.
